If you have ever fought with leaky Pontiac valve covers, you know that the thin spring steel “clamp” style hold-downs don’t do much to prevent distortion or over-tightening. These Matthews Innovations load spreaders were designed specifically to solve that problem.

Key Features

• Massive 5/8"+ thick design – not flimsy sheet metal. The extra thickness resists bending and over-tightening.

• Approx. 5" of clamping length – spreads the load across a much larger area of the valve cover flange.

• 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum – machined from solid bar stock in our precision shop, not cast or stamped.

• Helps prevent leaks – wider, stiffer clamping surface helps keep the gasket evenly compressed and the cover flat.

• Clean, professional appearance – looks right at home in a detailed engine bay.

• Bi-directional mounting - Use them with accessory tapped holes exposed or hidden.

• Tapped Holes for Accessories - Choose to mount these with tapped holes exposed allowing addition of accessories like spark plug wire separators or standoffs with aluminum rails to route your alternator or fuel injection wires keeping them hidden and retain that clean custom look in your engine bay.

• Great solution when aftermarket aluminum valve covers won't clear heater core hoses and windshield wiper motor... And a lot less expensive!

• These cost less than some of the full sets of aftermarket thin clamps offered by other sellers.

Application

Designed for Pontiac V8 stamped steel and most aftermarket valve covers that use perimeter bolts. Commonly used on Pontiac performance engines where better sealing and a cleaner look are desired.  This design specifically tested on Edelbrock aftermarket steel valve covers as shown in picture.

BOLTS NOT INCLUDED  Due to various gasket thicknesses and user preference, we've priced these to allow customers to choose their own style and length of bolt.  See our included images for details.
